Julia Phillips specializes in early literacy for children in Pre-K through 3rd grade. With over 20 years in the field of education, she brings a deep understanding of how children learn to read. Julia works with emerging readers who are on track in their development, as well as with students who need more targeted support. She is AMS-certified as a Montessori teacher and trained as a reading teacher, blending Montessori methods with the Science of Reading to guide children to become strong, confident readers. Julia earned a B.A. in English at the University of Virginia and managed a literacy program at a children's museum before homeschooling her own children. She has also spent years as a lead teacher in the 3-6 year old Montessori classroom and as a tutor for 1st through 3rd graders who have dyslexia.
